Any of our experts know about the MARS Pocket Watch Co. ?
I just received an engraved pocket watch from my Father-in-law that belonged to his Father and possibly his Grandfather. It is marked MAR'S or MARS in script. It has black roman numerals with blue numbers from 13 - 24 beneath. and a very nice metal case. The second hand is in a circle at the 6 oclock position with the numbers in black. The watch can be wound and is running but I've been unable to set the minute or hour hands, only because I'm not sure how to. Obviously the back opens but so far I can't get inside. I don't want to do anything that might damage the watch as it isin very good shape. I'm presuming it is from the 40's or earlier?
Can anyone help with some information? Thanks |

Well, I checked a few on line sites and learned how to open the front and back of the watch. The back opens and is marked with a diamond, a "C" and the numbers 72299. The front of the case opens to expose the dial and hands. I also learned how to set the time by depressing a small button on the case just to the side of the winding crown stem. I have not however, learned how to access the movement. The watch is working perfectly and keeping accurate time.
