For Sale: Avalon Version 1 -sold-
For sale here on TRF is one of Avalon's project watches, and what has become known as Version 1 since it was the first style he made.
This watch does not include a strap since most people have their own preferences for materials, colour, and quality. The watch has a 43mm stainless steel case with mineral crystals front and back. The case is approx. 11mm thick, and has a nice onion style crown for easy winding. The lug width is 22mm. The movement is a genuine Swiss made ETA/Unitas 6497-1 manual wind, with sub-seconds dial at 9 o’clock. The movement has 17 jewels, Incabloc shock protection, Rhodium plating with Côtes de Genève pattern on the plates, and blued screws. The power reserve is approx. 50 hours. The dial is made of aluminum with applied Arabic markers, and the hands are polished black Breguet style. I will include a document showing the assembly process for these watches if the buyer is interested. Price is $410 US plus shipping. This price is enough to cover my costs on this watch and nothing more. Al made several of these watches for friends, some here on TRF, and some on WWF, and everyone has been quite satisfied with them to date. This one is available since a sale to a non member has fallen through. Since the watch is in the US presently (I have it here in Dallas) , there would be no issues with customs or extra charges for a sale in the US. Payment by PayPal or wire transfer. Photos below. Thanks for looking! :-/ Chip Photos of the same style of watch showing two strap colours Detail showing movement finish: Overall movement shots And here is my personal watch. Please note the the pics above are of my personal watch, and Avalon's personal watch. The one that I am selling is brand new, and it has plastic on front and back. To make a long story short, I asked Avalon to make two of those for me. One for my own use, and one for a co-worker. Well, the co-worker got shot down by the wife, so now the watch is in my possesion. The USD 410 price is the price of all the parts, as Al was generous enough to not charge any labour costs. So you are getting a great Unitas watch for basically the sum of it's parts. Thanks for looking.
