I can't keep up !!

Every time I try to compose a thoughtful answer to a question on this forum.....by the time I type and post, a half dozen of you guys are there ahead of me.

This thing is moving too freakin' fast..

It's not the computer...must be these old tired fingers...

Well Larry, if you'd stop hanging out with JJ, things would probably improve substantially. It's the "sheep syndrome". That's it! Yeah!!! Sheep Syndrome!!!

Oh no....
The stuff coming out of my mouth when I'm responding to this stuff is nowhere near what eventually ends up on the screen..

Otherwise I might have to ban myself...

This one is for you JJ;

Did you guys ever hear the one about the cowboy that found the indian sitting alone at campfire one night with just his dog, his horse and a sheep?

The cowboy tried to get the indian to talk but he wouldn't say a thing. So the cowboy, being a good ventriloquist, tried to goad the indian into talking but making it seem like his dog could talk.

The cowboy asked the dog "How well does this indian take care of you" and then made it seem like the dog said "He's ok, he gives me rabbit to eat and always let's me drink out of the stream as much as I want"

The cowboy looked at the indian, who was raising an eyebrow but said nothing.

So the cowboy asked the horse the same question and the horse 'said' "He treats me well, brushes me and never gallops me for too long"

Looking at the indian the cowboy sees both eyebrows raised but still the indian says nothing. So the cowboy says "Well, let's see what the sheep has to say"

Suddenly the indian says "Sheep lie!"

....cheers

I hate it when that happens... You could always resort to the old fallback by replying to all questions w/"Use the search function"... (which nobody does here, BTW??) That way, you could just copy/paste and have your insightful reply ready in just a couple seconds...

You know....I hate that....

And, I'm glad you brought it up....

There are some forums where that seems to be the prevalent answer. Sure, there probably isn't much you can ask on this forum that you can't find somewhere in the thousands of threads and posts here....

But you will never see me answer with "use the search function" dummy.

That just stifles the whole personality of this fine forum family...

I have been a member of a German Rolex forum, and when I asked about something in my VERY first post, I got the reply from the moderator:

"Einfach mal die Boardsuche benutzen, DANKE!!!"
(Just use the "Search" option, THANK YOU)

When I objected to that kind of tone, I was kicked out, without any warning!

Luckily, I now know that that German forum is famous for being RUDE! And a LOT of members have gone from there by their own will.

I'm a long time member of a car forum (TDI's) and I confess to having used the UTSBD (use the search button dummy) response on a few occasions. When I first joined, I spent literally months reading before I ever posted anything. I had to. There was so much information there and pretty much every question imaginable had already been asked, many, many times. Sometimes a question will be answered in that very thread, just a few posts up and someone will jump in and ask again... Did you even read this thread? On those occasions, I usually resort to humor and point them to the answer but include a bit of heckling. Here, you folks are much more tolerant. Not only can I learn all about Rolex but sheep shaggers as well.

Speaking of thoughtful posts, I think I discovered what was REALLY going on during a recent absence from TRF...
