New snowflake
After a lot of looking and running things by the experts on the forums, I finally pulled the trigger on a Tudor Snowflake 9411 circa 1980. The seller has a 5 day return policy so I'm having a local watchmaker check it out as well.
Many thanks to the folks on the forum that helped keep me from making any mistakes :-) I sure learned a lot along the way... |

I am totally jealous, I am trying to find one that is actually legit to buy.... May I ask who you bought it from? Even trying to sell or trade another Tudor Sub, just to get a snowflake, I prefer no date snowflakes, but I do love that one!

My Blue Snowflake says hello from about 40 miles south of you (NarrBay). I think there are a few others in the neighborhood. May require a Sub get-2-gether at the Cask 'n Flagon some day...
What is the first three of the serial?

You're right, not easy to find a good one
Lotsa junk out there. The forums (this one and the others) were very helpful.
I'll PM you the places I looked. |

Nice to have more Boston snow ;-)
Always nice to see local WISs! Absolutely interested in a local GTG ... Always jealous of the ones in NYC I read about on TZ.
It's a 947xxx serial. |

Thanks for all the comments guys!
Was looking for a while. Saw a lot of black ones (relatively speaking) but had my heart set on blue.
Able to weed out the obvious fakes myself but I feel very fortunate to have you all to help authenticate my final candidates. Tremendous support ... What great forums are all about! Really loving it ... Worth the hunt for sure. Cheers, Fred |

Mine is about 10K earlier than yours. One thing I have noticed is that the markers and hands seem to be brightening up as it spends time in the sun... I may need to lock it away for a few months to see if it darkens as according to legend

The Snowflake is a ridiculously special watch, particularly in blue, and yours looks absolutely fantastic. I'll definitely be wearing mine this weekend.
Congratulations, sir! Regards, Adam PS - Yes, the NYC GTGs are pretty good... |

I wonder what value these will rise to! The numbers compared to 5513s and 1680s are much lower. NOw that people are searching actively for them I wonder if their values will be at par with the Rolex sub. H

They still have a ways to go but I can see the snowflakes and Rose models sneaking up just below the 5513. Clearly documented MN or USN should go for more.
They are a great piece. Enough that my generic sub lust is gone so instead I'm chasing GMTs.

I am with you on the gmts. I never liked them much. Then I found a Pepsi gmt 1675. I just adore it.
