I must be jinxed...

So, my LV sub is half-a-year out of warranty, and the quickset date stopped working. I can still fix it by advancing the time by 24 hours.

Everything I get that's mechanical seems to have problems, and I'm not especially rough with things or anything. The date setting worked fine last time I used it (May 1st), but now the crown just spins freely in position 2. I'll probly just wait until the next service, since it's not a big deal to advance the date by going forward 24 hours.

Sounds like you have the right approach, but that is still frustrating nonetheless!

I would bet if you stop by Rolex in New York they will fix for free. They have fixed stuff for me out of warranty. Most of the time very nice and helpful.

100% agree. It is worth a shot anyway, this is something that I would not let go until the next service just in case there is something more serious here.
