My Rolex is still under warranty but I would like brushed the bracelet as it has some scratches. Anyone know about Rolex New York service would charge to do this job? Or is there a way I suppose it done cheaper? I thought I read once that there was a special product for that. My watch is a Sub. 16610,

I would suggest waiting until the watch really gets scuffed up to get it serviced. You can try a cape cod cloth or if you must have it serviced go to Tourneau at Bal Harbour Shopping Center if they are still there. If not bring it to Mayors on Lincoln Road.

Do NOT use a cape cod cloth...that's for making things shiny. Use a green Scotchbrite pad to create a brushed finish.

Call Rolex Servicing in New York they will tell you. They are usually pretty good with this. If Tourneau services it and sends it out it can take forever....Rolex in NY may do it while you wait if you call for an appointment. The Number is 212 758 7700. Best of luck with this..BTW they will give you a free polishing cloth and carry case if you ask them

Usually Rolex RSC will not refinish a bracelet outside the regular service interval.

The life of the bracelet is greatly diminished each time it is refinished..

Why would you use a green scotchbrite pad?

It's used for heavy soiled pots and pans. It will scratch the metal.

Is there another type of pad that you guys are referring to?

That's exactly why you use the green scotchbrite. If you rub it in a straight line with the grain of the brushed metal on the bracelet, it'll scratch it to give it the brushed look that it comes with.

Only for brushed surfaces only not polished surfaces

Yes, I find when I use the scotch rite it always leaves some dust or residue so wash with soap and water.

Dove soap is recommended by Rolex.

The ultrasonic is used for the bracelet only and from what I understand creates tiny bubbles that reach all the books and crannies to clean out any dirt on the bracelet

Green pad wont really do much on a Rolex bracelet (it worked on my SMP).

Most effective quick fix is a fibreglass pen http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fibreglass-A...3473994&sr=8-1

Much more accurate to use than a pad and REALLY gets good factory finish results.
