Icon5 How do you wear you watch?

I was watching a program the other night where the main character wore his watch with the dial facing inwards, or in other words on the inside of his arm with the clasp facing out. If you want to know it was a murder mystery program - Irish cop program.

Anyway it got my thinking that I do some quite a few people wearing their watches on the inside - and I don't quite get why, anyone here mind to enlighten me?

And some people wear their watches on their right arm (might be left-handed I hear you say), my dad who is ambidextrous wears his watch on his right wrist because of the crown, he doesn't like the crown digging into his wrist. So please let me know why you wear it on your right wrist.

Let me know your comments/beliefs.

[edit]

I wear my watch on my left wrist facing outwards, as it is tradition. I find if the dial was inwards it would just scratch the crystal/plastic.

It is strange, I have had colleagues in the past who wear their watches like that, I almost want to open the clasp and set the watch the RIGHT way around

I wear mine on my right wrist because I'm a leftie. My dad wore his watches with the dial on the inside of his wrist. His explanation was that it was easier to turn his wrist away from his body to see the time.

My father also wore his watch on his left arm, facing in. I remember asking him why? and his response was two fold, first, it was easier for him to turn his wrist that way (not for me) and second had to do with military- keeping the watch from reflecting light so his enemy had less of a chance to kill him, I'm pretty sure he wasn't gay. just the way he liked to "weat" his watch.

I have heard that reason as well; made sense to me.
