Incoming AP RO 15300
Recently got the AP bug after spending time on the AP sub-forum here..
Got the 15300 on order, 39mm black dial with bracelet, which i think pays tribute well to the original RO design by Gerald Genta. I am fascinated with both designs by him, the other being the Nautilus 5711/1a which i am hoping to get few years down the road and hopefully that being the last piece in the crazy watch chase. Currently having Pams, Rolexes, Omegas and assorted brands but this is the first AP. The hexagonal design of the bezel is the feature that sets it of for me. and i prefer the version of the RO to be closer to the original design so i am not so hot on the ROOs for now (hopefully for a long long while so i do not have to spend on expanding the AP collection). Also believe that sizes in respective brands should stay the way they were originally designed, i.e. Rolex sports @ 40mm, PAMs at 44/47mm, AP @ 37/39mm. Base design/dimensions are good and will stay true to the purist even as sizes grown and shrink, and form/factor morphs like fashion. Can't wait. DavidSW has the piece picked up by Fedex as we speak and i hope i get my new toy soon. Feels terribly guilty as i have promised myself not to get another new piece only few months back but the AP bug bit hard and i was smitten badly, no thanks to you guys :) I hope the AP RO does not dilute my love for my current pieces.. |

Totally in for your taste. Was going to bid on a black dial power reserve nautilus last week, but was late in setting up account on Antiquorum! I want a RO, too, for its design perfection. But why do I feel RO is so overpriced!?!

Guys, thanks for the warm welcome, nice pics and kind words, i promise pics when the watch hits the door.
The AP RO will add diversity and dimension to what i have. Now i am just afraid the reception and hospitality in the AP sub forum will see me sink into AP madness. FedEx tracking says 7th sept. I am clicking on the "track shipment" button every hour, as if that would make the FedEx plane fly any faster.. The birth year sub will tide me through today as i look forward to tomorrow |

it is relative i guess, i would venture to say the AP RO is similar in used pricing as a Daytona, Pam233, Red Sub. while these 3 pieces are relatively higher in price in the baskets they are in, you have the AP ROOs all at high price tags than the AP RO.
however, price aside and all things equal, my heart goes out to the AP RO. did try on a few AP ROOs quite a while back but that didn't evoke any emotions maybe things will be different after the AP RO gets on the wrist.. |
