The battle against the fakes - part of Rolex mystique?

Where would Rolex be without the fakes? Is that a risky question?
I mean isn't a copy the best form of flattering?
Hologram stickers, engraved rehauts, laser etched micro-coronets... A Rolex is like modern money, constantly evolving in the fight against the counter-fitters.

For me this is part of the "Rolex mystique".

Imagine the fakes would stop tomorrow... Wouldn't that be boring?

Or to ask more radically: Do you think Rolex would have the same value today without the fakes?

I believe it's policy we don't discuss fakes, not even that they're bad or anything.
