I don't think anyone will disagree with me here; I am the wrong person to ask about the perfect static collection... hehehe

Just keep flipping until you feel good about it. I'm almost there (for this week anyway)

For me the trio I feel good about right now (just rolex brand) is a DJII, 18KGMT, and a White Dial EXPII42

I think "complete" never actually happens.
We're always gonna be on the look out for something new to add.
Just my thought.

Complete collection to me: watches that draws a big smile on your face and makes you in no need of another piece.
So it could be a single watch or a dozen of them :)

I would consider it to be complete at:

1) A beater
2) Stainless steel
3) SS X 2 (1 would not be complete because when it is away for servicing you don't have one)
4) Gold casual watch
5) Gold dress watch (only need one as the gold casual will probably do while this one is being serviced)
6) Platinum/WG/stainless dress watch
7) Second Platinum/WG/stainless dress watch for when the other one is being serviced and for rotation.

Most people aren't like me though. I'm all about having a watch to match every thing I wear and every situation. A lot of people just want lots of Rolex's such as having a SD, Sub, Explorer II etc. Nothing wrong with either way obviously. Just a matter of what suits the person most.

That wouldn't be a collection at all. It would be a bunch of different straps..

If you have every model of GMT ever made, you would have a complete collection..

If you have every model of Sub ever made, you would have a complete collection, and so on..

Focus and direction define a collection; then you spend the rest of your life refining that collection..
