Never thought of GMTIIs with dials with gold surrounds as vintage but I guess it's getting close enough!

Pardon my ignorance, but why is it referred to as "fat lady"? I see it used from time to time, but have no clue what it means.

"The 16760 GMT-II had an extra-thick case - .5mm thicker than its predecessor, as well as a thicker bezel & crown guards. This has led to the nick name "Fat Lady" - also " Sophia Loren". Not sure about the 16750 being called that also--never heard that."

Much thicker case (2mm more) than standard Sub/Explorer II of the same era. The case is as thick as the Sea-Dweller of the same period. The crown guard is very different than the standard GMT before and after this FAT LADY GMT.

Yup. I couldn't find the picture that someone took of the Fat Lady and the Sea-Dweller next to each other for comparison. Because of that picture, I compared my Fat Lady to a Sea-Dweller and she's one FAT ONE!!!

16750 is a transitional GMT with plastic crystal, quickset date, fast beat caliber 3075 movement, non-adjustable hour hand, fixed GMT hand that goes around once every 24 hours, same case, same bezel insert, and the same plastic crystal as the 1675 GMT.

16760 Fat Lady, 16600 Seadweller and 16750 GMT
here are some pics of the three. Notice the case and bezel thickness on each

the other interesting note is the dial either crazed or spider webbed or the gloss wore off to matte like finish. Mine has the latter and the dial is un real.
