Next Rolex after 42mm white, Expl. 2 ?
Hi
What would be the perfect rolex to get after a white 42 explorer 2. I was thinking a Sub.C ND or Sub. C date or Milgauss GV. I was thinking a Sub.C ND or Milgauss to really mix it up and be a bit differant to what I have now. Thought about the new 41mm Datejust SS, but this one seems a bit to formal / dressy for me. Thank you all. |

I would say the Sub C ND but that is because I have been lusting after that one for a few months now!

New Rolex
My first one was a Milgauss gv.i love it. Scratches very easily though. You have to not care and just enjoy it. I am looking for a exp II now for my second roley. This post caught my eye because of your dilemma. How do you like the exp??? I want one in black

When I bought my white Exp II, the seller had a ND Sub c that was reserved for another buyer. Seeing it in the flesh I thought it was a stunning watch and almost changed my mind about the Exp II!!
Since the Sub is now on my immediate wish list, I'd say go for it! |

Sub and Explorer II polar are just a natural combo. Will cover anything. So funny you mention it, my third Rolex will be a Milgauss GV when I am ready. For some reason these watches just cover the sport line beautifully for me.

SUBC ND gets my vote! Has turned into one of my favorite all time pieces without a doubt!

I'd say GMT, but the expII already has timezone function. go with subc, it has a great bracelet and is classic rolex.

I would probably go for the DJII (although you say it's a bit dressy)
My reasoning is that if you configure it with a smooth bezel and Oyster bracelet, then opt for a black (or blue) dial with stick markers, you have a sporty watch which is similar to the Milgauss but with the date. It's also a nice size at 41 mm If you are happy without the date, then the Milgauss is nice. You may, however, find that the Milgauss and Subs feel rather small compared to your Exp II

Thank's for the advice
I am really so pleased with the expl. 2, after having a PAM 312 I was really worried the 42mm would be so small. But as others have noted it really is the perfect sports rolex. All the parts complement each other and it just work I have looked at the sub. & milgauss together & for some reason the milgauss seems to wear a little bigger - strange as both are 40mm - perhaps case size ? I'll have another look today. |

I did look at the Daytona, until I asked the price.
Beautifull, however out of my budget. |

Looked at the hulk today, & it might just have been the dealers lighting , but it really did nothing for me.
Also after a second look the Milgauss GV also is off the list. Looks like it is down to the Sub.c date / no date. Hmmmm, I need to sleep on it. |

Don't get me wrong , the hulk is still a stunning watch, just not my taste. Sub. C no date looks a bit cleaner to me on the 40mm dial.
I am getting to grips with the rolex design , but the date with magnifier is really pushing it on my 42 Expl. so I think the ND it is. |

I have the White 216570 and SubC date LN. Both complement each other perfectly, with great contrast between black and white. If you don't need a date, then the SubC no date is perfect! Good luck.

GMT II would be my choice. Yes they both have the GMT function but having those two pieces means never being without that particular function regardless of which watch you are wearing.

i flipped my DJII ( with WG bezel and blue fluted markers ) when I got the ExpII Polar. Then I got another EXPII in black....then I went back to looking at the DJII but without WG bezel....when I though uuummmmm I really think the stick markers are a tad too big but I like an easy to read watch..... so I decided to get the EXPI after getting both colours of EXPII ;o). Sub don't do it for me as I've got a GMTIIC and they are really quite similar ( ceramic black bezel - but different bracelets )

I say DJ 2 with a non-white face. Less common than the Sub and you already have a pure sports watch with the Ex2

Thank's for all opinions guys
I just put a deposit down at my AD for the SUB. C ND Happy to buy this from my AD as importing this model is really not much differant (if at all) price wise as it is so new and I assume much sought after. |
