Stolen AP City of Sails

A close friend of mine had his AP City of Sails Be Happy edition stolen in Europe a few months ago. This is an extremely rare watch and there are not that many in circulation. We have found a few for sale on Chrono24 and a local AD in USA.

We have the original owners manual with serial # printed on the cover, how do we find this watch? How easy is it for someone to sell this watch without proper documentation. How easy is it for someone to forge the papers/box/manual and reproduce the serial # that is on the watch.

How can we locate this watch, any help or leads are appreciated.

This may be the wrong place for this post, can someone please move it if that is the case.
