Crystal diameters

Hi everyone,

I am hoping a member will guide me to a chart that shows the diameter of the crystal in the sport range.

Everyone seems to use the case diameter as a reference point, but I believe that the diameter of the crystal is just as important.

My latest acquisition, Exp 39mm has a 32mm diameter crystal and I was wondering how it compares with other models?

To add, I have the following measures for the Explorer II 216570:

• Bezel edge to bezel edge: 41.5mm
• Case diameter incl. crown: 45mm
• Case Length: 48.7mm (lugs at 6 to lugs at 12)
• Case thickness: 12.40mm incl. caseback and crystal
• Lug width: 21mm (tapers down to the last link before clasp which is 15mm)
• Clasp length: 35mm (including the the small protution at the springloaded tip: 36mm)
• Crown diameter: 7mm - same size as Milgauss 116400 crown (standard TwinLock is 6mm)
• Crystal diameter: 33.5mm
• Dial diameter: 30mm (from INNER edge of rehaut to the other)
• Width of minute hand: 2mm
• Width of indices: 2mm
• Weight incl. all links: 157g (same weight as Milgauss 116400)

Plus these measures of the Deepsea Sea-Dweller 116660:

Thanks Bo, that's very interesting.

My 214270 has an illusional appearance that the dial face is small, but it is around the same size as the 'big boys'. My wife said she liked my Explorer 39mm as it had passing resemblance to a sub no date sans the bezel. Very passing IMO! I think she may be secretly liking this model for herself!

Models like the Sub and GMT have timer bezels that create the illusion of the dial face being a lot larger, when it is only marginally different from mine.

I also own a watch (non-rolex) that has the crystal extending all the way to the case edge and this gives the illusion that the watch is bigger.

The diameter of the crystal has some influence about a watch wearing big or small on the wrist.
