Some help with a 16610LV
I came over this 16610LV for sale. But the seller knows nothing about the watch what so ever. He says he inherited it from his mother who died. I have asked him for the serial number, but he knows not were it is, so I have tried to explain to him were he can find it. Hopefully he will find it and send it to me.
From my point of view it seems a little strange why his mother would have a watch like this, why he wants to sell it and why he knows nothing about it. But maybe its just me being skeptical because I know there is so many fake Rolexe's out there. Anyways these are the photos he have posted of the watch. They are very bad and not easy to see much, but I know some of you are very good at spotting fake Rolexe's. So what do you people think, do it look ok from these photos? |

Did he advertise it as "16610LV"?
(There is no LV reference on the warranty card...) The engraved rehaut doesn't look right from these angles |

No he have not said anything about warranty card or nothing. I have asked him on mail if a warranty card follows. He has not yet responded. Maybe I should just steer away from this one. But it is the only 16610LV (If it is one) for sale in Norway. I will just have to wait and see what response I get from him. |

"buy your seller, then buy your watch."
I would not do business with someone like this, you are just begging for an expensive problem. |

The pics aren't that great. I've seen authentic watches dials photograph like this but IMHO I'd walk. It could just as easily be a BS story and a fake watch. $7k can get you one from a great seller all day if you look so why even mess with it? Just my thoughts.

Even if the pics were good it doesn't mean that is the one you'll get in the mail.
BUY THE SELLER and in this case DON'T BUY THE WATCH. |

When in doubt, walk. There are many lvs for sale. It needn't be this one that you buy.

Comparing it to mine it is close but the bezel looks mis-alligned.
The price is high at 7K. If you can have it checked at a RSC then it's your decision. Some fakes of the LV are difficult to spot until you have it in the palm of your hand IMO.

Pass...
So what if it's the only one for sale in Norway. Buy from a trusted TRF seller and deal with confidence. Good luck but I'd definately steer clear of that one. |

I got a short response. It is a v-seriel and he told me he only got the box and the watch no warranty card or anything else. I will leave this one alone, and wait for another one.
As someone said I can buy it from this forum, and I have actually bought two Rolex's from DavidSW earlier. The only problem is that in Norway we have to pay 25% tax wean importing the watch to Norway. Also the prices on used Rolex's in Norway are usually identical with the international prices and the prices on this forum sometimes even lower. I gave $5,850 for my random serial Milgauss GV from Jan 2012 in Norway. This is why paying 25% extra tax for the watch because I buy it outside of Norway is not very tempting. Also for some reason it is easier to resell watches in Norway that was originally purchased from one of the few AD's we got in Norway, rather then USA, England or China for that matter. Maybe because the buyers are familiar with the AD's we got in Norway and that creates a safety. So even dough I know it is a lot better selection here and I also know sellers like DavidSW is 100% trustworthy it is not all ways worth paying 20-30% extra for. |
