Submariner 5512, 1960, 2 liner silver/gold

Hi everyone!
I have a Submariner 5512, serial number 578xxx (so 1960), gilt dial, 2 liner (silver/gold), 1530 movement, perfect flush-fit bracelet.
It was my father's watch.
I would like to know how much you would estimate it.. Here in Italy these is a big discussion about it..

I would like to add some photos of it but I'm not a genius of computer.. So if anyone is so kind to help me..

Thanks a lot!
Michele

Yes, we need photos! When you click post (or in this case "reply") to a thread, there is an option toward the bottom of the screen to manage attachments. Click on that, then click on choose file, and then select the files/photos from your computer one at a time, and then click on upload. Make sure the files are not too big. When you click on manage attachments, it tells you the maximum accepted sizes. Good luck!

If anything it's closer to 15k. Here's one that's in that range. The OP's watch has a really nice dial and a fat case.

Kyle, the dial on that one has damage around the edge.

s/n 578xxx is one of the earliest 5512 (1959/1960) hard to find. case is not overpolished, original insert and bracelet, and if dial is ok, that is the right range price.

Sorry my words came out wrong, I meant to say it's possible that it's in the 15k-20 range. I just wanted to give another example to back that up.

Stunning 5512! Just beautiful. I assume you want to sell it because you asked for a value (unless it was for insurance purposes.) But if it were me, I'd keep it, especially since it was your father's. Money can always be found one way or another. You'll never find another Sub like this.

I wanted to know the value to decide what to do.. I love this watch but I think I could thank my father for this present even riding on a fantastic vintage Harley Davidson, my real passion.

So, if I'll be able to sell it at the right price, I will be glad all the same.

If anyone is interested in it, just write me!

Good luck! Personally I would keep it, watches in this condition don't come around too often.

She's a real beauty. Follow your passion - if it's a Harley, sell this rare bird to someone who can love and cherish it. There's no point in keeping it around and yes, your dad will be sad but he'll understand.

Although, (on a personal note) if it were me - I'd keep it simply because it was my dad's. I plan on passing down my 5512, 1680 and DJII to my kids some day. Throughout the years as they grow up, I'll teach them about watches and what makes them so special in hopes that one day, when I pass on, they'll love and cherish these timepieces --- versus selling them the first chance they get.

Nice original watch. Not many with that quality dial around any more. I sold mine a few months ago and it was not as nice for 12K. Market conditions, dealer vs retail and timing all have to be considered in selling. If my fathers I would keep it but if no interest move it along to someone who will cherish it. very best of luck. Early 5512, 1530, pcg, gloss dial, bracelet. I bet closer to $20k+ at retail.. Depending on the dial of course. Your pics are not all that great.
