Resting position

I know this has been discussed a lot but I'm curious about something

My watch was running about +10 and I've always left it crown down. Last night I left it crown up and it's +2, I'll monitor it over several days for an average but that's looking a lot better so far.

I read comments that the resting position was for the older slower beating movements and most see no difference so why does mine respond?
