Yes, I needed to know how to tell. I'm not familiar with such watches and don't like such watches and was getting rid of it. I looked all online and needed to know how to find out for sure and went by the ebay guide to tell and all anyone says is fake and not why it's fake

We told you it was a fake...Take it to a Rolex Authorized Dealer if you can stomach the embarrassment. Won't be the first time they have had to confirm for someone it is a fake.

Be careful selling $5,000 items online that are counterfeit I don't think it's legal...

Your description....
"I have for sale a Rolex Submariner Perpetual Date anniversary watch. I am no expert on such watches and I've looked into fake vs. real and it seems genuine. I just received this today as a holiday gift from my uncle and quite frankly, I am broke and do not like watches. I am hurting for the money and would like to get rid of this ASAP. I don't have a box or manual as my uncle sent one to my father as well and shipped them both together in a single box. Please look at the pictures. I'm not familiar with the watches per se but it would be great for anyone who loves Rolex watches. You'd be helping make my family's holiday brighter. Thank you."

IF you do want to get rid of it FAST I'd say sell it to someone for $45.00 but let them know it is 101% not real.

Night.

Well, it's never embarrassing asking a question if you don't know an answer to. And I am more than happy to take it down if someone would mention it than to say, it's fake and I'm reporting you. So thank you for letting me know how to tell it's a fake.

Not even a good fake. Definitely change your description to let people know it is not real. I would pull it because you are definitely not going get the money you thought you would

I'm not sure...so I'm asking. Is it actually ILLEGAL?
I'd think it would be?

I ended up just changing it to replica. It was never my intent to deceive so I appreciate letting me know how to tell it's a fake than those who just say fake and don't explain why.

That's not bad...
Not sure if eBay still allows that but that's not bad....

New description

"I have for sale a Rolex Submariner Perpetual Date anniversary watch. As I've been told, it is just a replica. But as I do not like Rolex's to begin with, I just want to get rid of it and get something for the family for the holidays. "

I can't talk to my uncle in his native language so there's not much I can say and as I do not have a great relationship with my mother who does, I'm just going to let it go. Like I said, I appreciate knowing how to tell and it was and has never been my intention to decieve

Maybe you can treat yourself to lunch at Panera after selling the "replica" but be sure to keep it under $10.

Mickey, nice call on making the connection.

Arcee, great job in being honest. Sounds like a genuine mistake, and I'm glad you made the description change.

Welcome to TRF... Tons of reading on here as to ways to tell a real from a fake. The more you look at pictures and read up the better you will get. Stick around for a while and you may become a Rolex fan after all.

You can make a description change all you want, it is still ILLEGAL and Ebay has not and will NOT allow it. It has Rolex TRADEMARKS, i.e. the Rolex coronet (crown) the WORD Rolex printed and stamped on it, and trademark stylings, which constitutes TRADEMARK INFRINGEMENT and makes it a FAKE. You can call it a "replica" all you want, but it is still counterfeit at the end of the day. TRF does not condone fakes.
