Is this an original Speedmaster? I am unsure about the engraving of the hippocampus on the caseback. Apparently there are several different versions. This may be one of the earlier ones, but I'm not sure.

Looks legit to me, standard mk2, horribly polished though, which for me destroys the whole look and charm of the mk2, I love the sunburst grinding.

That case is horrid. A MKII Speedy was my first real watch. That is an abomination. Maybe it could be put right with an official service.
I wouldn't touch it, not even with yours.
