A few questions..................

To All - I was hoping that some members might be able to answer a few questions I have. In "about" 1995 I saw a Rolex Perpetual, No Date, Black Face w/Gold stick, Fluted Bezel and Oyster w/gold bracelet. I just had to have that watch but the checkbook said "No". Now that times have changed - I have looked at the present Rolex web page and have found it is no longer avaiable. If I'm looking correctly it appears that the closest would be the Datejust II. I just really don't care for the magnified date - but I would be ok with it as long it had the black gold stick face (which I can not verify either) Could a Perpetual be ordered w/o the date with the other choices I had mentioned? I really don't know if Rolex does such special orders. If so, is there a major charge to do so?. I guess "I like what I like" and was looking for a little advise from someone who may have experienced the same. I was looking for something new (no used) and with the proper factory documention. Any further info on the serial number significance would be appreicated. Thanks.

The Rolex website is useless. It only lists a tiny fraction of the dials available.

Your modern options, closest to what you described, is the 116000 Oyster Perpetual, 36mm seen here:

Or

The Rolex AirKing 114200 at 34mm:

As for special orders, Rolex doesn't do this.

It seems that you are rather confused as to the names of the models and the features they have.

For instance, every watch in the Oyster line is an Oyster Perpetual, as in the Oyster Perpetual Submariner, but there is also a model called just the Oyster Perpetual. For men, it is a 36mm watch on an Oyster bracelet, much like the DateJust, without the date.

I think you are talking about the model 116034 Oyster Perpetual with fluted bezel on a 70200 Oyster bracelet. There should be a number of dial choices available.

It retails for $6650US.

You might have to order one if your local AD doesn't have one in stock, but you won't have to pay extra. Your AD might require a deposit, however.

Hi Flagman1. It seems as though you are looking for a two tone, yellow gold and stainless steel no-date Oyster Perpetual. Rolex used to offer this model in a variety of sizes with the Oyster Bracelet and Fluted or Dome bezel. This model was discontinued sometime in the middle of the last decade, but you may be able to find one new old stock, or pre-owned. This 34mm Ref. 14233M with blue stick dial belongs to my wife:
