looking for a 1803 band
I am from the Wilkes Barre area and Im in search of a reputable Rolex collector or dealer that sells used 18K gold President band Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am new to this forum so any information on what to look out for and over priced band is appreciated as well.

Sadly, there's no retail 'Rolex Store' where you can just drive up, browse from a large selection of preowned parts and make a selection, especially in Pennsylvania.
This is going to be a hunt for you and although you may get lucky and find the bracelet of your dreams in a few days, the likely outcome is that you'll spend a lot of time and research until you strike gold (pun intended). Start with ebay...that vast marketplace that sells almost anything. I'm not suggesting that you make your buying decision right off the bat, but by starting there, you'll begin to get a feel for what's available and preliminary pricing. Then you can also post a 'want to buy' in this and other Rolex watch forums and see what comes back. If you've been studying the market, then you'll have a feel for what's priced right and what's not. Keep and eye out on this and other selling forums around the web. The selling forum here is comprehensive, but not everything that has the Rolex name gets posted on this site, so start browsing on a regular basis. You'll have to make some hard decisions about what condition you'll want that bracelet to be. President style bracelets are prone to stretch and that can range from mile to strung out. A stretched bracelet can be repaired by a guy in Hong Kong, but that will add to your cost. And, finally, you can always consider the aftermarket bracelets without Rolex branding. That won't win you any accolades amongst the purists in Rolex-land, but it may get you where you want to be. Aftermarket is generally tolerated so long as the piece doesn't have phoney indications it's trying to be real. Happy hunting. |
