Daytone useful or useless

Hi , just a thought , when i wear my sub the only day to day use i havefor the bezel is to time parking meters.
so with this in mind i find it odd im drawn towards a Daytona ,,, but heres the question , out off all the daytona owners on the forum , how often do you use the timer function , and what do you use it for ,,,
i know what its used for , in theory ,, but in real life ,,, wat do you do with it.

I've used it a few times at track days to time my friends. Never used it to time myself though. Use an XT Ultra Lap for that job.

For some weird reason I use my sub for cooking. Also when you park you can aim the 12 o'clock marker at the entrance of the store so that when you come out it faces the location of your vehicle. Someone on here made me wise to that quite some time ago.

I don't use chrono feature and don't think I will. However, I didn't buy it for the chrono, so it is an extra feature.

I also want a DayDate and I know the day function is totally useless because I have never EVER lost track of what day it is......

If you love the watch I don't see why you have to use all it's features, if any.

Lets be honest, most of us dont buy our sports watches to use them for anything else but to tell time and to looki good. There is nothing wrong with that. Just because a watch has other features on it does not mean they have to be utilized.
My car has many things that it can do that I have never or will never use. LOL

It's jewelry, plain and simple. And it might have a secondary purpose once and awhile, like telling time. A third function might exist but who cares.

Several years ago I dated a server who said she was taught to look.

Agreed on the watch shopping gig. Kinda disappoints the clerks when all you want is a $20 nylon strap. :)

I care, and a watch is not "jewlery, plain and simple" to me.

I'm actually amazed that anybody would wear a watch and not use it to tell time. Do you even bother to set it?

I like to cook and use it as a timer frequently. I also time my kids' timeouts. Hehehe.

Don't have my Daytona yet, but use my Speedmaster often, to time lunch breaks (don't want to go back to the office until I've used 125%+ of my allotted 1 hour per day) parking meters etc.

The best use is actually timing server performance... as an engineer, I can time how long a function takes to run, then use the tachymeter bezel to tell you how many operations per hour can be completed. Its actually far easier to use a Speedmaster Pro for that than it is to time it using computers, so much so that programmers often borrow my watch themselves for that purpose.

The beauty of watches are that they are multi-functional, they serve to tell the time and sometimes the date and sometimes to time things or see the time in different zones and yes they do serve as an aesthetic piece of beauty and they also serve to communicate to people on your style and taste. The humble watch really is quite an amzing thing and that is why we are all so obssessed with it... otherwise we'd all be clinically insane.

I play around with the chrono, but don't really use it. I bought it because I loved the watch. I also own three Subs, but I don't dive anymore.

I've used mine for grilling on the Big Green Egg, Sunday afternoon naps, boring road trips to test speed between mile markers, timing my dog to see how long it takes to wear him out with a frisbe, even timed the rides at Disney (2.5-3min btw) etc. I sold my GT3 and can't do laps in my landcruiser. It's just fun to use.

I don't have a Daytona yet but I use the stopwatch on the iPhone every day to track billable hours and when I do purchase the Daytona ill use it to time billable hours everyday - it'll give me a reason to write it off!
