Set Submariner against an atomic clock!

I set my Rolex submariner with an atomic clock downloaded to my iPhone, Three days ago and it is still tracking to the exact second! No gain or loss! The watch is 5 years old with no service yet! Pretty impressive.

Well you must have a watch in a million as there is almost daily slight variation owing to a thing called gravity. But its not impossible even in watches without the aid of the all singing and dancing parachrom hairspring. .

My PAM 233 stays on the second for one day and it starts gaining as the power reserve depletes to a max of around 4/day or so when almost empty ... all in all .. it will gain about 15 secs (or so) during the entire 8 day reserve (without bothering with resting positions and such). That's pretty good to me! I only did this once when I got it, and it wasn't very scientific ... just checked against my computer's clock ... It doesn't really matter too much. As long as it is within a minute or two a month it is fine by me.

Update, It's now 9 seconds ahead of the atomic clock, I’m sure it's normal though.

9 seconds in 4 or 5 days is very accurate and well within COSC parameters. As I mentioned above, from my non-scientific observations and some I read ... they tend to run a bit faster as the power reserve depletes ... even on an auto, if you are not moving too much it will need a full wind every now and then. I'd say you have a very accurate (and pretty) watch.

I have a 116613 LB that I set to an electronic school clock. I gain maybe 3 seconds a week, maximum, which I think is pretty special. Just over 2 years from new and it is very, very, very accurate. It looks O.K., too!

Excellent performance! My TOG Datejusr gains about 4 seconds per day
and you know what? I'm totally at peace with that. Best, Mark.
