What is best a custom Rolex or a Rolex that is stuck in custom?

If you have the money, do as you like. Also plan to use independent watchmakers for periodic servicing.

I'm not as much of a purist as some; however I would not mod a Rolex. Resale killer.

It just depends for me. Like if I had a black submariner date Ceramic I would want the blue and green bezels as well. That's the only kind of customizing I would do, which is still technically factory.

I'm not fond of diamonds on men's models, but my wife's DateJust has a custom diamond dial and bezel. And if she likes it, I like it!

Agreed with the others have said. Any mod will hurt resale value and you'll likely never be able to recoup any investment made on the watch.

But if you plan on keeping the watch and never selling it - then go crazy and do what makes you happy.

I would happily change straps, and on the Daytona there are so many nice WG dials I think its worth getting a few, but Id always keep the original so it can be sold easily.
