It will be another month or so before my per-loved D serial Sea Dweller makes it to me. For now it's just sitting in a box in NYC. Is it bad for the movement if the watch is not moving or wound/charged for up to two months?

Two months is a spec of time in a watches life. No worries.

No worries. Some sit in the showcase for months (if not years) at the AD without being wound.

It is fine... Might need a service someday soon, but should be fine. I just serviced my Dad's D serial number Date. That was more for dings than any concerns I had about the mechanics of it.

It is recommend to move often, wear, and avoid long periods of sitting idle. That being said, I don't think you have anything to worry about. You could solve the issue by taking a trip to NYC to pick it up, strap it on your wrist, take a few pictures, and upload them to this thread!

It's really not a problem.

We've got a couple of TRFers that must go a few months before wearing a watch again purely based on the number they have.

But next time ask the seller to ship in a battery-powered winder...no worries!

Yes your sleep cycle my suffer somewhat in that time period.

The movement in any Rolex watch could be sat in the factory weeks, months, or even a year plus old before its cased then shipped around the world,then stored at AD then sold.With Rolex making around 800000 units a year and say 600000 of those use the cal 3135.Now they are not made to order for any particular case or made the same day.Plus the fact of hundreds being tested at COSC and returning from the COSC so Rolex must have a huge stock.So I am 100% sure a few months idle will do no harm whatsoever.But if storing any watch for a long time I would recommend a small manual wind every couple of months just to start the movement.

No kidding. I bought the watch at the end of January! My brother in law was going to bring it to Canada for me next week but his trip got delayed until April!!

That means at least another month of staring at other people's pics on the forum!
