Rolex Client No

Does the Client No ie Originating country code make any difference to re sale values ?

Do 160 refs ie UK keep better value.

I'm guessing that it doesn't make the slightest difference but what does the 'gang' think ?

First you'd have to find the 1% of the 1% who know a blind word you're on about. But to answer your question, haha, no, no difference. Originality, condition, accessories in that order for me

Of course . . . . make sure you never buy a Rolex in or from the USA !

One from Swiss has a lot more value . . .

Would you pay more for a watch because it was shipped to a certain country?

Whatever next myself always buy condition of watch not a bit interested in bits of paper unless a valid warranty,or bits of plastic, boxes, or country codes.

It actually isn't that silly, but nice of everyone to ridicule you over it. A 160 watch, or at least EU coding does sell easier in the s/h market, as it allays a buyers fears over whether or not VAT or relevant taxes have been paid on it.

One of the grey dealers, I can't remember which, maybe watches.co.uk will only buy 160 watches...plus if you want to take advantage of free dial swaps on watches like the Daytona or DJ (if Rolex still do those within 3 months of purchase) they won't do it with a non EU watch.

I think this is a very fair question by the OP.

Totally unfair to ridicule for no reason.

In the UK grey dealers definitely apply a discount to watches originating from certain countries (Russia / Greece etc).

There may not be any logic in this but if I were ever to buy a second hand Rolex I would pick one from the UK / US over Russia / China.

At least I know that I could follow up with seller easily etc

Not a silly question in my opinion but I agree that country of origin doesn't make a difference. I have always found it interesting that many watches on the watchfinder.co.uk website originate from Italy, makes me wonder why they get so many from there rather than other countries? Most are insurance jobs I assume but interesting either way.

Italians love watches, Rolex in particular, in common with most countries its thee brand Italians aspire to. If you have ever been to Italy you'll notice Rolex watches everywhere, (many fakes also I admit) but Italians are passionate about Rolex. Sales in comparison to the US are obviously lower, but per capita ownership is high. (I speak as an Italian passport holder) ;)

There are definite Country Codes you don't want to see. Like the ones that do not exist. Some scammers make the mistake of forging docs with such mistakes.
