I swear ... this is the LAST one !

Well, for the fourth time in two years I have done it. I have to stop hanging around with you guys. All this talk about Rolex possibly making major changes to the No-Date Sub at some point in the near future -- even if only a rumor -- has prompted me to go out in search of one. Thanks to a member of the forum, I found one at a decent discount in NJ yesterday. Its a Z Series, non-COSC. Had it shipped, so I did save on taxes. Should have it tomorrow or Monday.

So, now my collection consists of an Explorer I, a ND Sub, an Omega 300 SMP, a Nomos Ludwig, and a Seiko Lasalle Tank (quartz). Hmmmm ... that's five. Maybe I should make it an even half-dozen, just to keep things in balance. No, no, no ... stop it, dammit !!!

Congrats on the new arrival! The OP sub is a classic. Can't wait to see the photos.

Yeah, odd numbers are bad. One more ought to do it. LOL!

Congrats

BTW, you need at least 8 watches. One for each day...plus a spare

Good choice.

Stock of this model will soon be gone.

I like the symmetry of this Rolex and am also looking around for one.

Excellent choice, Langley, and IMHO a very good investment in the long run, too.

Congrats on the new watch! Glad to see Jim helped you out. I love my no-date Sub also. It's my favorite of all my watches and am wearing mine right now. I need to stop hanging out on this board also. It makes me jones for another Rolex which I shouldn't get for at least another year or two.

One of my favorites! Enjoy and keep posting to get through the buyers remorse. I had it bad on the LV I bought two weeks ago.

Congrats on your new pickup, Langley.

And as Mike says, even numbers are good (he has had to do that "evening out" thing many, MANY times)!!

Congrats !

I badly regret selling a ND sub last year that I had managed to get BNIB from AD contact for £1400 (44% off !).

Oh well, you live and learn,

Enjoy your fine new aquisition..

Bran -- Definitely the LAST one for '07!!! He he he. If I ever do make my watch collection an even six, I think number 6 will be something dressy on a strap.

GoISU -- If I understand your question correctly, you are asking about my "on-COSC" reference, correct ? To answer ... the No-Date Sub is, I believe (Correct me if I'm wrong, guys.), the last Rolex professional model to be officially certified as a chronometer, which happened only recently. (COSC, which stands for Controle Officiel Suisse des Chronometres, designates the watch as being tested and certified to the precision standards warranting its designation as a chronometer).

Rolex has decided that all watches in its professional line will now be COSC certified, and the latest series -- the M series -- of this watch IS now COSC certified. Mine, although brand new, is the previous Z series, which is not COSC certified. Doesn't necessarily mean it is less accurate; it just means that it was not put through the COSC certification process.

Beyond the COSC certification, I believe the only other differences between the Z and the M series ND Subs are that the M series has a couple of extra lines of type on the face stating that it is a chronometer and has the RolexRolexRolex circular branding inscribed around the inside rim of the case.

Makes sense, thanks for the reply. Will this make it more collectable or do you just prefer the face without the lines of text? Just curious.
