Hi,

i would be grateful for some advice/help. I have a GMT master 11 which has been problem free since i bought it in 9/09 until now. There seems to be a problem with the clasp. It is harder to click together and when on sits proud of my wrist. I have attached a photo of it (apols as it is a bit blurry).

I was just going to send it to Rolex but if there is an easy fix I will hold off until i need it serviced.

Have you checked to see if any of the screws are lose,bracelet seems to be bit lose on your wrist there have been quite a few problems with the new type clasps on forum, a lot more than the older clasps that's for sure.

It looks way too loose for me, if you took a link out got a snug fit, don't think it would do that.

That being said you say it sat better before, you must like it loose. Maybe a link is gunked up a bit. Might just need a good clean.

Yes it did sit better before. I do wear it loose. Even with the clasp link "shortened" it still pokes out like in the first pic. It is harder to click together now as well.

It is a bit grimy though! Could do with a good clean anyway..

Make sure the easylink extension is fully clicked in, looks like it stuck halfway or something from the pics..

Looking at your second pic, your easylink extension is fully extended, are you sure you tried clipping it back in?

No. The easy link doesn't sort the problem. See third picture with the link closed (post 14)

how about unscrewing everything, cleaning the bracelet and then put it all back together. may fix the problem.

This is a good first step.

For the OP, if you are not comfortable with unscrewing it, then at least a thorough cleaning is in order. I believe I see a clasp link that isn't laying flat - maybe some grit is blocking it. See pic attached...

Good thought. I've looked at it and there is nothing stopping it laying flat. The problem seems to be with the other end of the clasp ( the spring loaded bit that pivots).

I'll take it to the Rolex jewellers and see what they think. If that doesn't sort it ill get our local watch repair shop to take the clasp to bits and clean it. If none of that sorts it ill send it to Rolex and get it serviced at the same time although I could do without the bill!

Just clean the whole bracelet and clasp with a soft tipped toothbrush and soapy water.
Try that before bringing it anywhere. You would be surprised at the problems solved by just cleaning.

Since you confirm that the link is clicked in place then could there be some foreign object lodged under it?

It does look like something is preventing that link from lying flush...

When you open the clasp, could one end of the pin holding the link inside the clasp have come out of the hole slightly?

In the first two pics the easylink was undone. On the last pic it was clicked fully inplace and that part does lie flat. Seems to be some problem emanating from the spring loaded part of the clasp. Have cleaned with my two year olds toothbrush. Watch looks much cleaner but the problem persists and she needs a new brush!

Zed's onto it...Your bracelet is unbalanced on your wrist. Move one link from the clasp side (6 o'clock) to the 12 o'clock side of the bracelet.
