Yachtmaster ll SS & RG

As opposed to other threads, I do not see a lot of coverage on this watch. Was considering buying one but now considering not. Seems like any style Yachtmaster as opposed to this particular YM2 still rules. Thoughts?? ...thanks in advance for your input.

Each to their own...you you either like it, or you don't!

Personally, I love wearing mine.

I think this watch is ridiculously good looking. I think it's regatta functions make it a little less practical as a daily wearer. It's dial is not as intuitive or simple as some of Rolex's other offerings which is why it might not be as popular as the Yachtmaster.

It wouldn't be my only Rolex but it is maybe my favorite two tone piece.

Now you're not considering it because it isn't discussed enough?

Good point 77T but no that's not the reason. I love the watch but have noticed there is so much attention given to the Yachtmaster itself. I'm probably going to purchase. All my other Rolexes are SS so to buy a TT is a departure for me but then I don't want to fork out the bucks for the WG, Plat. Thx everyone for your input, I greatly appreciate it.

I think you are saying that you buy stuff to get approval from others here on TRF.....

I suggest you buy a watch because you like wearing it and it sings to you. If others dont like it, well who cares??

I had one particular member here call my YM II YG a clown master. Well that is their choice, and people will always knock others down, to make themselves feel important because you have something that they probably can not afford.

Just buy a watch that you enjoy wearing and makes your heart skip a beat.

Actually johnbeth, every watch I have so far I love regardless of what people think. Getting a TT is different as I mentioned. The YM ll gained my attention but chances are I'm getting the TT as opposed to the WG due to price at the moment.

Nice watch. I actually prefer the TT over the WG.. I've never tried one on, but I think this watch is a killer. The fact that it is not discussed much here doesn't mean anything, but still a good point. I do not know why!!

That should be added to the forum rules.

Very wise words that could be the answer to a lot of threads!

just to play devil's advocate here, it's not completely illegitimate to note that a particular watch does not get much play on the world's biggest and bestest rolex forum. if someone is on the fence and likes it, but worries about re-sale if the watch doesn't "stick", the fact that it is relatively invisible on the forums might provide a barometer.

or not. could just be that it's expensive, so, not many people have it.

One of the most awesome watches Rolex makes IMHO and you asked

great size, nice complication, unique, rare

also more expensive in the Rolex line

to each his own

I'm not a big TT fan but there are two that stick out in my mind. The blue face Daytona and the YM2. Gorgeous.

It's an expensive TT and it's rare to see in the wild. If you get it you will be like the unicorn, and that's a good thing!

It's really not the price or jealousy that puts people off the YMII ! However, variety is the spice of life, so buy what you like and just enjoy it rather than rely on a bunch of strangers on an internet forum to approve...

It's your choice, you may not like some of mine.

I'm not sure if I'm reading this right - are you saying that you're basing your purchasing decisions on how many threads you see here? If so, I'd skip the watch and get something that actually matters to you.

I think it's a great watch and if I was to spend 20k right now for a watch that would be it.
