Is the GMT-IIc still in high demand?
If so my AD has one in the case right next to an LV. I tried it on and loved it, but my watch funds right now are set towards an Audemars Piguet Royal Oaks Offshore.
PM me if you want the AD's info.

Nope. I am hearing stories everyday that the GMT IIc is sitting in dealer cases. And the prices on the various for sale forums haa dropped. They are not commanding the permium anymore.

The majority of ADs now sell them at MSRP, some even discount. You can see the demand is low now because even the fleabay sellers sell them at a discount.

The AD I visited yesterday had 2. 1 on display and another in the safe, both offered at 10% off.

I mean the watch comes out and people go gaga for it and some morons pay well over sticker for it now it seems to be easily had. No offense to Milgauss lovers, but I think the EXACT same thing will come about for the Milgauss which IMO is not all that great

Also, I was looking at watches in Atlanta a couple of weeks ago and the salesman noticed my GMT and said that they have people begging for them and they only get one here and there!!!
The demand is still high!!!!

My AD has 3 or 4 sitting in his safe...
he keeps them out of the display cases, but it's easy to get. he evn told me he has 'too many'.
I think the GMT 2 is now a 'normal' Rolex. But I still don't see them at the mall.........yet. |

Was at a very upscale AD in Charlotte, NC and the saleslady mentioned that they only got one in and hadn't seen another; wished she had more because she'd sold them all.

They must be in very low supply in the South East, becuase I never see them in the cases. Maybe there are still regional shortages???

Err chummies...as little as Orchi knows...currently in the Far East...the New GMT II ceramic bezel watches...are being snapped up like HOT cakes...!
At Max. there would be about less than 10,000 forum members n Rolex enthusiasts in here...as compared with the millions of Rolex enthusiasts worldwide...most of whom don't even have internet access n many of them are still illiterate... After having seen one or 2 of the New GMT II watches sitting stunningly prrrrety on the AD's shelves here or elsewhere...by their respective clients in the certain market localities...that circumstance faced in here...should NOT be construed as the benchmark of the worldwide's high demand vs. short supply scenario for such a model... |

Sometimes you have to pay to be one of the first. I bought a motorcycle (ZX14) once at a premium because I wanted it the day it was released. I knew if I waited 6 months after the release, I would save $3K but paying the premium didn't matter. Some of us would rather spend the money than wait out discounts.

I am looking for a used Datejust or a used GMT II. So far, most of the watches I found were Datejust. GMT II "pepsi" is harder to find. Then again, I was looking only online.

I think the GMT-IIc and Milgauss over asking price is different becuase people are thinking "hoping" these will be the next Daytona type of watches that will always get over asking prices.

I won't get one until I can get one with a decent discount. My financial prudence outweighs my lust!

Milgauss will be I think a much rarer watch due to much smaller market of people who need the antimagnetic features. Believe it or not, some people actually buy these watches for their functions and not just as fad followers.

But Orchi thinks maybe harder for you to get...the GMT Master Ref: 1675(non QuickSet DATE)...or Ref: 16750(transitional with QuickSet DATE) on any of those dials mentioned in prrretty order. Good luck hunting... Ref 1675 GMT Master SS(Pepsi) with Plastic crystal Ref 1675 GMT Master 2T 18K(so called "Volcano hour markers" by the Chinese Rolex enthusiasts) with Plastic crystal |

I'd say that the SS GMT IIc is fairly easy to get if you want one, and at MSRP to boot.

gmt 2 ceramic
Im new to this forum and how i wished i went to this forum before i bought my gmt ceramic. I was in bangkok for the holidays and was looking for the milgauss or the gmt ceramic as a christmas present. I was in bangkok for a week and went to several ad but only found 1 store having the gmt ceramic. They were selling it for a premium so i tried to call my dealer friend in hongkong to find out if they had one but unfortunately they have none but the last one they sold was around 800 dollars cheaper than in bangkok. Well finally i got convinced by the agent that supply is really low and had me swipe my credit card to finalize the purchase. Well now im kind of regretting having gone thru with the purchase knowing now that i shouldnt have paid premium for the watch.
