F1 Grand Prix, Rolex

Nice to see plenty of Rolex involvement at F1 this year.
Are any of the drivers wearing Rolex ?
Only spotted one on the wrist of technical journalist, Gary Anderson.

Anyone spot any others ?

I don't believe any drivers are ambassadors.... Most are backed by 'younger' and 'more exciting' brands... AP, Hublot, RM, etc.... I've always thought of Rolex as more of a sportscar brand, I bet many 'gentlemen' drivers wear and support...

Johnny Herbert of the F1 Sky team was sporting a white dial SS Daytona on practice days, but very strangely on the day of the race he didn't wear a watch.

Most of the drivers wear watches from the company that sponsor the team they drive for.

Quite often after the race you see the drivers being given their watches to wear by their minders before they go out onto the podium or do other media duties.

The Red Bull drivers would strap on their Casios and the McLaren drivers would put on their Tag Heuers.

To my knowledge, no current F1 drivers are Rolex associated. The most important of Rolex's F1 ambassadors is Sir Jackie Stewart, 3 time world champion

And as Rolex is quite cautious about their brand image, perhaps few active F1 drivers meet their standard for endorsing it.

Not very strange if you think about it. Racing around a track at 180mph you dont get a lot of time(or need) to glance at the time and as we know, weight is watched very, very carefully in racing, particularly F1.

RRGhost1 - I wonder if that was a gift for winning Daytona in a sports car? Not sure why he wouldn't wear it doing TV unless Sky asked him not to....

Bangel - Sometimes that is true, however not always.. Felipe Massa is sponsored by RM, and Ferrari Hublot.. On the podium (if he ever gets there again ;( ) he straps on a RM while his overalls have the team Hublot logo... Same with Schumi when he was @ Mercedes, and even now as a Merc ambassador - he has a personal deal with AP, and Merc with IWC... You will never see him in an IWC

If I were making $31m a year like Hamilton, I wouldn't sign any deal with any watch manufacturer for any price. With that kind of cash, I'll buy every and any brand I want.

Schumi started as a TAG Heuer ambassador before going to Omega, which as many know, gave him his own line of Speedmasters....

TAG Heuer is still affiliated with McLaren and has been for decades. Heuer has a long association with f1, going back to the days of Lauda and others who used to receive Heuer Scuderia Ferrari chronographs when they signed for Enzo.
