Laser Coronet and Hologram Sticker?

Hello. I'm interested in a K series sports model and was wondering if the coronet and sticker would applied since both were introduced in 2002? If not, what security/authenticity features should I be looking out for as I wish to purhase it new? Thanks.

Best thing is to buy the seller before buying the watch. If the seller's good, probably so is the Rolex.

Also, you could suggest that the watch be authenticated before paying for it.

Another good indicator is the price. If it is too good to be true, well then.....

The etched crystal came out in 2001 but was not throughout the line and the sport models were the last to receive one..

A "K" model may have been produced from 2000 until 2003 ( P, K, and Y were produced concurrently) so you might find some with the crown.. If it has been serviced, it may have a service crystal..with the etching..

The best defense is to study dials and cases so you are well prepared.. and the movement inside will tell volumes..

Never rely on a hologram sticker for anything..

I removed my hologram the second I got home so lets just say it's meaningless, it by no means authenticates the watch. Actually, they can cause pitting to the steel under the sticker, moisture can get trapped under it, they are supposed to be removed after purchase to begin with. When I see older subs with the sticker all messy and discolored on the case back, I wonder what the steel looks like under it. Seriously, why people leave these on I will never understand...it's a sticker for goodness sake, steel feels much better on the wrist. A good way to see the laser etching is to go outside an a sunny day and look at the crystal at a angle, it will appear....

So true. I have seen fake Subs with both the hologram and the etched crystal!
