Real Daytona?

Hi all,

I am really not much at spotting fake rolexes and I would really like some help. My husband has been waiting on a blackface daytona for sometime and I think I may have found one. Before i pursue any further with the seller.. does anyone see anything strange in these pictures?

Pics look legit, but always buy the seller before the watch! Pictures can come from anywhere.

Do you know the seller? If local, ask him/her to meet you at a AD store to inspect the watch. Price?

I saw the same picture listed with 2 different companies:
topnotch watch and .rolex24h.com. The first company sells on ebay and the 2nd one has a sketchy past, I would suggest staying away from both of them. I also wanted to purchase it, but will wait.

Yep.

Rolex24h.com, on the other hand, is a Russian site which uses "borrowed" images, lists unbelievably low prices, and accepts only non-traceable and non-recoverable payment methods. Good luck, you'll need it.

Good work Al Makes you wonder why more legit sellers don't watermark their pics?

Thanks for your advice!! After looking a little deeper.. I have seen these same photos twice!! once on ebay by topnotch watch (legit seller I believe) and again on www.rolex24h.com. There is no way that rolex 24h.com is a legit site! Is there any way to report them?

I don't see Peterhost as an ill-mannered host.
And they will answer you back in English, you don't need to take any Russian lessons..
Don't know if there has been any criminal case with ROLEX24H.
Is there anyone who really has got scammed by them?

I have an active FBI/Internet Crime complaint going against Rolex24h.com.

Topnotch Watch on E-Bay is very legitimate and I am annoyed that someone would post otherwise. I made a statement to that fact a couple of weeks ago when someone asked the same question. I believe if someone's reputation is questionable it should be posted for all to see.

Ont the other hand, if someone is legitimate I would be cautious in writing anything bad about them. Reputations are hard earned and can be tragically trashed in a heartbeat, especially with internet traffic being active today it would be a shame to have someone think badly about Top Notch Watches because someone misspoke.

You may want to try http://www.demesy.com Joe Demesy is an authority on Rolex and has authored books on the subject.

Aside, I wish my wife was like you [agreeing to such a Rolex purchase that is!]

Good luck !!

Yes indeed. That is why I have lodged an FBI complaint against them. If you look in www.ripoffreports.com you can type in their name and all kinds of reports come up. I'll tell you how the scam works:

You click on order on what appears to be the greatest deal on a watch imaginable. You fill out your information and hit order. Immediately a form comes up stating where to wire your money and to whom and , be sure to e-mail them when you have sent your money. Your e-mail alerts them to have their person pull the money out of the account quickly, take their cut, and send the rest to the main thieves. The name will change all of the time as well as the banks they use. One time it was Arthur P. Huhn and another it was some other ridiculous name. The way you send your money is always by completely untraceable means; i.e., money order, money gram, bank wire, cashiers check, etc.

Go ahead and place a fake order with a fictitious name yourself and see what happens.

What pisses me off about this is that all of the pictures are stolen from Top notch watches who does a beautiful job photographing their watches. They are shot in front of a fine home and the watches are impeccable. Somebody should alert them about the pictures being stolen for the rip off site.

That is how the scam works and that is why I filed an active FBI/Internet Crime Complaint. I cannot stand seeing people getting ripped off. people work too hard for the money they get.
