Panerai Marina
Is $4000 used with lifetime warranty for an '06 Marina with all papers, boxes, tools, black alligator and rubber straps, etc. a good deal? The watch looks to be in mint condition with minimal wear on the alligator strap.

Which marina model is it? I think it depends on the model.

I'm not sure of the model number. I think its a 111. The second hand is at the 9 o'clock position. The dial is black. Does that help?

I'm no Paneristi, but if you look closely at the auction, not once does he ever state it's an Authentic Panerai. So when you get bilked out of your money, and realize the watch is fake, he will argue he never stated it was an authentic piece in the auction.
PS - No Paypal? Only Wire Transfer, Personal Check, or Money order. That says it all. |

Stay -very- far away from that one. Not even close to being real. I can't begin to say what's wrong with that thing.
-The metal surrounding the lumed numbers. -The "1000" on the dial being passed off as the model designation (no such thing) -The cyclops on the date -Strap looks wrong -Most everything about it... This is what a 44mm Luminor Chrono looks like... called the Daylight (like the bad Stallone movie) http://www.essentialwatches.com/list...n_name2_browse |

Anyone like the new Ceramic Radiomir? (PAM 292) I'm waiting to see if the Luminor models get a ceramic version for 08...

Uh, ok, I think Earl caused everyone to get off track with the ebay watch. The watch I'm looking at is at a reputable dealer in Los Angeles. Again, $4,000. Deal or No Deal?

$4000 for a 111? What series? H, I, J, etc...
I haven't looked at the Paneristi.com trade/sales forum in a while, but that sounds steep. US 2007 list price is only $4600 on a -new- 111. ;) http://www.paneristi.com/reference/p...rices2007.html Also, if that's the look you're after - consider the 104 (automatic w/date vs. handwound) or the 177 (in titanium) You should also probably decide if you like sandwich dials or painted dials. Nowadays, nearly all of the Historic models have sandwich dials, but several years ago, they were painted. Just a matter of personal preference, but many like the painted better. The 0 and 5 models are the only Historic ones that still have the painted dials. The 5 is nearly identical to the 111 and it's actually cheaper. The automatic Marinas have painted dials. |

TheDude has got some great suggestions
Do you have any additional info on the watch? Especially if you're considering purchasing you should make sure of the exact model and serial, and all the proper accessories and documentation that will come with that model. If it is a 111, 4K might be a little steep for an H serial, but seems about right for a J serial. Since you said black alligator strap...You might be referring to the 104 (automatic with solid case back and date feature). I believe the 104 comes standard with a black alligator on deployant clasp. The 111 model comes standard with a tan calf strap on a thumbnail buckle. Both will have the rubber strap. |

If you factor in lifetime warranty, 4K is a good price for an H series. I have tons of risti friends in socal that may be able to help you out in person if you are in any doubt.
We are also having a large gtg in Feb. in socal, email me if you are interested. There will be some serious prices that most don't see everyday.

$4,000 is around the mark for a Panerai 111 you might do better by a couple of hundred.
The Pam 111 is a polished stainless steel model it is COSC and has the patented crown protector. It also has a display back and sandwich dial (if you get after the 'G' model) and is part of the Panerai Heritage range. It has a manual wind movement with a swan neck regulator. Good Luck

Panerai are equally good as Rolex when holding their value, but make sure you buy an authenticated one! Good luck and keep us posted

The original poster asked about one from a second hand dealer. Yes, any store with a watchmaker can give as long of warranty as they wish. A second guy posted the ebay link, u r right, god awful fugazzi.

Thanks Daren, the second post about the ebay link kind of high jacked my thread and got everyone off track. However, a couple of posters were able to direct me where I needed to go.
