It isn't just a matter of taking off the bezel to adjust the hands.
You actually access the hands by taking the caseback off the watch and doing a number of complicated procedures.
Basically, you are courting some significant problems if you try to do it yourself without the proper tools and knowhow.
My advice, take it to a 'skilled' watchmaker and you will have a happy ending.
P.S. Welcome!

You wouldn't remove the bezel to make that adjustment, you would have to remove the crystal. You will have to have your watch serviced by an authorized Rolex service repair center. If the watch is under warranty, you should return to your dealer for advice or contact one of the three Rolex service centers (New York City, Beverly Hills, Dallas).

O.K. we have some conflicting stories here
To access the hands does one normally do that by:
(a) removing the crystal;
(b) removing the bezel:
(c) removing the caseback; or
(d) getting out the angle grinder and just going to town all over

I would remove the back. take the movement out then adjust the hands. then put it back together. replacing all the gaskets, cleaning the case, then pressure testing the watch to depth.

The way to go is:

Caseback off
Crown off
Movement out

Adjust the hands and back with the things again.

Welcome to TRF!

Here is what you do:

HANDS OFF your watch!

Sorry for the pun!

And let a Rolex-trained watch maker fix it for you.

I stand corrected. I only suggested the crystal removal since it seemed as if one of the hands may have simply needed a "lift" to free it up to allow the other hand to pass through.

Regardless, if my watch had the problem it would go back to the RSC for THEM to decide the proper way to solve the problem!!

why would you want to do this yourself?
take it in to a pro
the way you ask the question "How do i take off the bezel" indicates you are not a pro.
i would not work on the engine of my Honda let alone my rolex.

Hi Steve,

Welcome to TRF.

The very fact that you're asking us whether you need a "special tool" gives us the uneasy feeling that you haven't done this before.

If you're trying some kind of experiment.....DON'T!!! The damage you'll cause will prove very, very expensive.

Whatever you want done to your watch, let a pro handle it.

Good luck - JJ

My Gmt Came From The Ad New This Way Too

When I bought my GMT in 1987 the second also swept across and scrated the surface f the minute hand.
I was furious after noticing it.
Had to be sent back to RSC and took 6 weeks to get back.
I can't imagine how these get past the QC people.

You could also unscrew the crown and adjust the hands...LOL. If it is THAT far off, I'd bring it back to the AD. Not a do-it-yourself project.

This is an old post. Looks like he's already successfully done it.
