Icon20 Why Rolex?

Throughout the years, I have met people who would buy a Rolex watch for various reasons. The most dominant reasons appear to be status quo and quality. In my case, quality would be the driving force for me to buy a Rolex watch. How about you guys? What would be the reason/s that would drive you to buy a Rolex product? What do you think are the right reasons to buy a Rolex watch? What do you think about status quo and quality as reasons? Are they too shallow (cause for me, status quo is too shallow a reason to buy from Rolex. I think Rolex intends more for us consumers than just to give us some sort of status symbol)?
