My Saturday work on the house watch and weekend project
Aloha All,
One weekends this is my work on my remodeling of our house watch. Project has been going on now for 7 years. Complete demo/gut interior electrical plumbing etc. Also replaced half of the floor joists and beams. Not sure if you all are familiar with single wall construction. In Hawaii they used to build homes with only a 3/4" x 6" wide T&G redwood siding. All interior wiring was hidden using wire modeling. The plumbing galv. pipe was run under the floor joists and up into the cabinets. Most people are familiar with dbl wall construction. That is siding on the outside, 2 x 4 stud walls and drywall inside. Since I gutted the house I framed piece by piece stud walls through out the interior. Now all of my electrical and plumbing can be hidden inside the walls covered with drywall. Anyway my project today was to install a new mailbox (locking type). Having trouble in the neighborhood with mail thief! I attached a pic of my new mailbox along with my trustworthy weekend warrior! Aloha from Kauai. Tom I am doing all the work myself. From new footings on up. Hopefully within the next 2 years we will be moved into this house. Closer to work! |
