Certificate in the box?

Last week I became the proud owner of a new 16610LV sub which I brought form my local AD.

I have just noticed that there is no paper certificate included with the watch.
I do have a guarantee card with the serial no. , model and date of purchase included in the box but no certificate.

Being my first Rolex I'm not sure if this is correct.

Hey Arthur! Welcome to TRF!

The newer series of Rolex come with a CCC (Credit Card Certificate) which serves as the old guarantee certificate, which was paper. It should quote your model #, serial # on the front and the address of the AD (Authorised Dealer) as well as your name, address, and date of purchase on the reverse, which are written in by the dealer to complete the guarantee. Some people don't like this step in case they sell the watch, and the second owner wants to write their name there instead.

This applies to some Z series subs and most M series subs.

Enjoy this madhouse! And congratulations on your first Rolex!!!

Here at TRF we are rather partial to pictures BTW. Post some when you get a chance!

Awesome watch! You cannot go wrong with a Submariner. I almost bought the LV as my first Rolex, but ended up with the GMT II "c" instead. Enjoy!

How did you get that pic of the security feature on the card? What can I use for infrared light?
