New or used Sub date C? What to do?

So I sold my Yachtmaster yesterday and found a pre owned Sub Date Ceramic that is like new. No signs it has ever been worn.

All paper and boxes as it should. Warranty dated Sept 10, 2012

I can buy this watch for 6950.00 out the door, no tax or I can get a brand new one with stickers from a local AD for 7400.00 all in.

A TRF seller has offered one for 7550.00 all in.

The other option is a BNIB GMT C that the AD has offered as well at 7300 all in
My problem is that I like each one equally so it isn't a matter of buy what you like rather an issue of economics.

What would you do?

If it's a matter of economics to you...well...get the cheap / used Sub. Right? Am I missing something?

I understand that cheapest is not always the best way to go.
Just looking for some opinions

I can pay the higher cost, I guess I'm just wondering if the extra value is there in doing so considering one is used.

Sometimes for a little extra you can eliminate any future worries of authenticity, and other issues that could arise by purchasing from an AD, I have done both, AD and trusted seller.
If the savings is only a few hundred dollars I would go with AD for peace of mind.

If the foregoing is true....it's a no brainer. Do you trust the dealer? If NOT, run away. If so, buy it.

Like wise as long as your source is reliable why pay more from a AD,and its possible that the used one from Sept 2012 could be newer than the one from AD..

I have done both types of purchases. It may sound silly, but I like my name on the Rolex paperwork. It's worth the extra $ for authenticity, etc.
Just my humble opinion.

It's a pretty small difference.

If you know your keeping it, go new.

There's your answer. Buy the used one and save yourself a bigger bit when you flip it.

That's not that much of a great deal for the preowned one. I would buy a preowned Rolex if it was a significant discount and have no issues with it at all. Just factor in a Rikki visit into the price and you'll get back a brand-new looking watch. That said, I would go brand-new because there is something to the experience of being the very first one to own the watch.

Me too, Im always looking for the best price because hanging around this forum I know Im constantly tempted to buy more watches, you move up the upgrade ladder so freaking fast on here, and as I don't want to have to sell to buy every time then so long as either the watch or the dealer gives a warranty and the watch is def real then Id always try to buy used and save the difference which after 3 purchases will probably equate to a whole new watch.

$450 difference between used and new? I would just go new in this case.

If you intend to flip buy used but if you want to keep buy new and $7400 BNIB with your name on the card? Very good price.

You like the GMT and Sub equally, and I know how that feels. I'm confident in my prediction that you will eventually get both. Whether you own them at the same time or let one go first, you'll scratch both itches. And that's fine. Get what you can afford now and start working on how to finance the other down the road. Cheers!

It's not quite Apples to Apples. I loathe discount fixations...but you should be able to find a boatload of posts with our Canadian members going on about massive discounts where an AD will lop off some of their horrendous sales tax...and then all the US discount obsessors will ask why.
