My second purchase and a Franck Muller Mga 4
I have had a fantastic day, My nephew who works for Marcus Watches sorted me out this absolute beauty which I picked up today:
While I was in the shop he treated me to a view of some of their watches, he brought out a tray with just over £4 million pounds of watches, the most expensive was this at £2.1 million. An amazing piece of craftsmanship and an amazing shop! |

Well speaking personally myself would not pay £200 for a Franck Muller no matter the complications and that dial far too busy for me.I like my watches just plain and simple like most of the Rolex line up but everyone to there own.

Absolutely agree. It was a treat to play with these things and it was beautifully made. I tried an MB&F Thunderbolt which I loved, it was barking mad but I loved it!

Could you elaborate? I do agree that his dials have become too busy, but his older watches from the early 1990's are still beautiful timepieces. But what turned you off FM watches.

Simply the style of watch much like most of the Patek range not my cup of tea great movements but they do nothing for me.And a few in the Rolex range I would never buy even if I was mega rich. I like my watches plain and simple that's high end to so called low end myself don't wear just a brand.

I did feel lucky! As Padi56 said, not everyones taste but it is an amazing thing to look at, very heavy and the craftsmanship was incredible. My favourite of the day (dont think Padi56 will like this either) was an MB&F Thunderbolt, pure pantomime. The MB&F music machine was crazy as well.

Not when it's a Frank Muller. Unless I could flip it for a profit, no thanks.

That FM is truly amazing. Possibly the most complicated watch in the world or close to it! I would have loved to have seen pictures of the MB&F watches you referenced!
Congrats on your gorgeous Daytona! Sent from Kevin's Tapatalk!

Im pretty new to the forum so I hope its not bad etiquette to post some of the others here but as requested the Thunderbolt: And Other images are of a Richard Mille, Urwerk pocket watch (you must have huge pockets for it) and a Greubel Forsey. OK to post these? |

The Franck Muller is an amazing horological piece of art. The Frank Muller "master of complications" is well deserved especially for that watch.
Congratulations on the Daytona.

I would own some models of FMs but would not wear the one pictured even if it were given to me....which I don't have to worry about

I think most will be happy with a traditional plain watch. Nobody is going to attack you for selecting a sub or a SS AP standard Royal Oak. As a watch becomes more detailed it comes down to personal taste, and far more polarising, some will love them more will dislike them. It is like the Rolex Leopards I think they are called or even a mens MOP with diamonds, some love them more are likely to ask why? Personally I don't get the interest in a RM or the FM above, I completely get the technical part as do most on the forum buy into the complexity, but the looks become a polarising call, they are not for me. My ideal final personal 4 watches will be a Sub, a PP Nautilus, a basic Lange and a AP Royal Oak, all in their most basic form, but I understand why others like greater variety, I love the basic classics.
