About rolex serial number

Hi guys! I recently bought my Submariner combi(Blue) and i wanted to find out when this watch was manufactured. I called Rolex NY headquater office and ask them if i can find out but they said it is not possible.
Is it really not possible to find out when my watch was manufactured?
It is 116613LB and the serial number starts with K.

It has never been possible to "know", only to be able to guess within a few years based on the serial number..

Yours, however, has the newer random serial. You can say that yours has been manufactured within the past couple of years since that is how long they have been using random numbers...

That's as close as you have ever been able to get though..

I am constantly amazed at those who feel the need to find a "manufacturing date".. A Rolex doesn't go bad like a loaf of bread when it reaches a certain age... No other watch on the planet has followers obsessed with this, nor can you know their manufacturing dates either..

I was worried because I heared that they used "sunburst dial" in 2013 and I wanted to make sure that mine was the new model. Is it possible to find out atlest this is the newest model or not?

Its just a slightly different shade of blue there is no such thing as a sunburst dial on any Rolex its just a internet nick name and no major changes since the 116613LB ceramic was launched.

As Larry has stated its impossible to say to the exact week, month, or year when a watch was made.I would think your watch is a random serial a mixture of letters numbers 8 in total. And what we can assume from this the case was stamped the latter part of 2010 till present time nothing more. And no matter the case serial when bought new from any AD they all get the same two year warranty and watches don't go off like a bit of cheese no matter the case stamp.
