Mystery Man
According to Rolex...
"In 1947, commemorating the brand's 100,000th officially certified chronometer, Hans Wilsdorf presented that selfsame Datejust to an illustrious gentleman he described as one of the greatest figures of our time. To this day, his identity has never been revealed." Anyone know who this could be? |

"Hans Wilsdorf ambitiously decided that for the 100,000 th Rolex Chronometer, he wanted to aim even higher, so he turned to his friend, General Guisan and asked him to offer it his friend, Sir Winston Churchill. Guisan agreed, and approached Sir Winston Churchill who accepted" Full Link Roughly half way down. |

The gifts to Churchill and Eisenhower were anything but secrets, so I don't think that he either was the man of mystery.
I have also seen the picture of the backs of a group of men, one of whom is supposed to be the mystery man and there was no way for me to determine which was the mystery man or even whom he might possibly be.
