I'm also debating between steel or FC. I keep going back and forth. I'm moving forward with one or the other this week. Keep us posted what you decide.

I tried both on this week. I'm sure owners will tell you detailed views but I thought both were nice. FC had more weight than I had imagined. Looked ultra sporty on the wrist. Steel edged it for me as I already have a "dark" watch in Panerai. Working on the purchase now, fingers crossed! Good luck with this brilliant dilemma!

There are no wrong choices in this dilemma, the Diver is awesome in all its forms. Good luck with your decision.

Since you already have a SS AP on a bracelet why not get a sportier and much different looking FC Diver?

The FC diver on rubber is the most comfortable watch I've ever worn. The carbon, ceramic and titanium are a great combination and the hint of yellow on the dial just makes it pop.

I got the SS and have also tried out the FC.

For looks - SS Diver

For everyday wear, lighter, more scratch-proof - FC.

Steel Diver would be my choice, both style and price wise.

Was in AP Boutique in NYC on Friday, and they reckon end-September/early-October.

It does.. A lot! The versality of switching to a SS bracelet is a big plus point compared to the FC that can only be had on rubber plus the substantial price difference ..

Personally I think the FC will add variety and something's little more unique than the SS diver to my New Jumbo

If it helps, I wound up selling my steel Diver + bracelet to make room for an FC Diver, since I figured my Jumbo would pull duty when I needed a fix of AP's peerless metal finishing. While I do miss the steel Diver, the forged carbon case, ceramic bezel and bold splash of yellow of the FC Diver make quite a statement on the wrist; the scratch/scuff-resistance is the icing on the avant-garde cake. Honestly, I can't get enough of it.

Of course, as has already been pointed out, regardless of which watch you choose, you can't lose:

Regards,
Adam

Thanks Adam, side by side I can see that the FC diver is more unique interesting compared to SS and like you our situation the same already have the Jumbo so the FC n rubber strap would be a good choice

I feel the FC is more of a summers watch or where you get a lot of sunshine as in darker conditions the watch becomes all too black for me, so not a great watch for me in the UK outside of summer. I would rather have the SS.

Steel - I think in the long run steel would be a better option.

IMO, though all this fc and ceramic is all great in new AP's, what would you do if you damage them? Unlike metals, they cannot be polished and must be replaced - which could cost you quite a bit...

Also IMO, Diver just looks better in Steel!
