The worst things about strap addiction...

The worst things about strap addiction...

10. Being able to guess the strap maker from pics
9. Looking at materials around you and thinking "that'd make a good strap"
8. Finding places to hide those new straps
7. Wanting to buy someone's dirty stained strap
6. Spending more time matching leather, string, and buckle than what you're wearing
5. Realizing you could have bought a new watch (or more)
4. Owning straps you've never worn yet wanting more
3. Caring more about the strap's looks than the watch it's attached to
2. Waiting months for that new strap to arrive
1. Needing to buy another strap while you wait for said new strap to arrive

LOL use to be obsessive with my straps as well, an addiction is right…

However as i've mentioned quite a lot recently, everything becomes boring after a while :(

Thoughts? Is there any hope for me Mike? haha

Well Martin, it's happened to me as well. I ended up selling everything and starting over. Here's the kicker: don't use the proceeds from the sale.

I think it is a process. Once you really find what you like, you focus in on just those.

But then again, a new set of "shoes" and it makes you go "huh?" again.

Maybe I need another strap......

I think there is a constant urge to explore .. newer designs, newer stitch patterns .. a peek at p.com and you ll find a new style every week if not every day .. think strapmakers are constantly experimenting as the market begins to get crowded .. imagine Dirk having all these sales .. unheard of.

Part of it is discovering what looks good IRL vs pictures. Everyone has differing opinions about what they like. I can't count how many times I've purchased a strap because it looked great in pictures but were so disappointing IRL. Just have to be willing to suck it up and sell it off.

Welcome to the "SAA" Group (Strap Addict Anonymous)

"Hi my name is Anthony and I'm a Strap Addict"

I knew I had a problem when I ordered 3 straps before the watch arrived.

Heading to a mini-GTG in Firenze today with my one and only PAM, a relatively "modern" Panerai knowing damn well that everyone else there will be wearing pre-V or older (!)...

So my only chance is to dazzle them with a nice strap.. or two (it's a two-night affair). So here's my strap - addiction packing sequence:
1. Select straps
2. Select belt & shoes matching said straps
3. Finally, find clothes that compliment them.

I think I need help with my addiction... too, lol!!!

I was doomed years ago when I got the Panerai bug. Now, the first thing I do when buying a watch is research strap options. Doesn't matter what brand.

Thanks dude .. I sold the 305 earlier in the year to pick up the Ali [ which is now on sale as well .. the incurable me ] .. I think of 389 as a perfect upgrade to 305. But then, as stupid as it is, I almost picked up a preowned 305 two weeks back. Then, this relatively mint 243 showed up and I couldnt resist. In the end, I think I love SS bezel >> all Ti Bezel .. 243 has the kind of POP that 305 doesn't .. 305 is surely more sophisticated in the same price range but there could be better 47mm options. There is no better 44mm for me than a 243 .. I have come to realize. Lastly, 243 is no longer around .. not in 95% + condition for sure .. There will always be 305's around.

Sorry for a rather long response ..
