Tudor value and reintroduction to USA

Does anyone have any thoughts on the potential increase in value on Tudor models with their re-introduction to the american market as i could see an increase in demand for them as the general public becomes more familiar with them and i see some oyster prince models going for very reasonable prices these days

yes only time will tell....... but imo, when it's getting more popular here and US's economy keeps going down, people will get them more than rolex watches......

And as you can see that on the car's market, a lot of people are buying Hyundai and Kia these days instead Toyota, Honda, or etc....... and their prices keep going up

Or you can see that on the house's market as well..............

The Big Blocks have leveled off IMHO. Not sure why as they still hold the highest value in vintage Tudor chronos, after the Monte Carlo, of course.

I will go out on a limb here. Pre-owned and vintage prices in USA will rise.

My general theory is that a rising tide floats all boats.
That goes for price as well as promotion and place (distribution).
  • The greater availability of new Tudors in USA will drive more interest in Tudor.
  • More impressions made via advertisements will aid promotion of it as a "Rolex-made alternative".
  • Greater demand for new Tudors will happen in USA with a concurrent rise in demand for pre-owned Tudors.
  • Higher demand with a stable supply in short-term means price will rise (pre-owned supply won't appreciably increase just because ADs are selling new).

This will take one biz cycle to gel IMHO. Come back a year from now and I think we'll have seen a 20-30% rise in pre-owned Tudor prices.

I agree on the vintage side.. Maybe not as much between the last of the "Rolex" design language and the new heritage line. We've already see a good increase in values of Tudor Subs over the last 2 years. I see snowflakes selling above 3000 without bracelets now. Two years ago you could get them for 2500. Increase of 20%. It has leveled off some but I can see value going up again. Not sure it will be by 20-30% over the next year but give it a few and it will be. I think the vintage chronos and subs will see it first and the day dates will still be great value. Mainly due to the act that the heritage line is focused on those and the pelagos will garner interst in the snowflakes.

Well given the popularity of just the Black Bay alone here on TRF, I would think the value would go up.

It's possible that it will affect prices positively as more and more become interested in the brand.. but only if they become interested in the vintage pieces.. There is not going to be an increase in these and the pool of interest must increase before prices to..

Only time will tell if Tudor will find it's niche in the marketplace.. Mid-level upscale watches are flooded in the marketplace today and Tudor will need to match the price-point of those players..

I agree with you and hope they do increase in value. I have a Blue Snowflake Sub that gets a bit of attention. I notice some people stare at it and then ask who makes it.

Yesterday I seen Tudor at an AD for the first time. I was talking to the sales man who was very nice. He said that Tudor has been in the store for a couple of weeks and selling very well. He said the other sales people were curious who was going to be the Tudor buyer. Would it be maybe the Omega or Tag guy? But he said so far every person he had sold a Tudor to or gauged serious interest all were wearing Rolex.

I think the Black Bay is a great value at full list, for whatever that's worth.
