AD in PA/NJ... and a rant
Hi all,
I was hoping you could help me with a recommendation on a Rolex AD in eastern PA or New Jersey. Backstory: I was on the waiting list at a local Rolex AD for the BLNR. I called them the day after Basel, and asked to be put on, where they said I was first. Once I saw them at my local Tourneau, I kept calling every week to see when they would get their shipment in, every time being assured that as soon as they came in I would be the first ones they called. Well they finally got their shipment in, but all four of the BLNRs went to "regular customers" (my friend is one of them). When I called and asked what happened to me being first on the waiting list, they gave me no answer and said they'd call back, which they still haven't a week later. I am furious and will never deal with this AD ever again. Basically I am just looking for a nice Rolex AD, who will do what they say they will do, and will treat me with respect. I know that everyone is not a WISer like us, but treating people with respect and keeping your word is paramount, especially in high level sales like this. I have no problem making a drive anywhere in PA or Jersey, I just want a good experience! |

I know there is an AD in north jersey, Lyons?, that members have had a good experience with. I've stopped in Bernie Robbins in St David's, pa a few times for a pressure test etc and have had good encounters there.
Best of luck tracking down the new piece, looks great in pics

Well. I am sorry I took one of your watches. I purchased a BLNR a few days ago at Tourneau in King of Prussia. They did not have one but were able to have one shipped in from another store in a few days after I gave them a $500 deposit. I deal with Alex and she is great to deal with. I have also purchased watches from AR Morris just over the PA line in Delaware to save sales tax. Benari in Exton I have heard is also good and I have been by but never purchased from them. Hope this helps.

Tons of great options in the area.
If you're looking at Newtown (18940), ask for Steve at Bernie Robbins. He's a great, no-pressure salesperson who knows a ton about watches and will go the extra mile without being annoying about it. |

You can do a simple revenge to that AD.
Go to the same AD and pretend you are interested to purchase the Rolex 50th Anniversary Daytona, I think the MSRP is $75,000. Ask the AD to order it for you. Then don't answer their calls when the stock arrives. LOL Karmic justice. jk |

This is where I purchased my Sub last summer, decent place. Family owned with three stores in the area. I got about a 6% discount if I remember right. Good luck.

Sir Larry, be patient.....the Rolex gmtblnrAnator machine at HQ is starting to really crank out these suckers at a good rate. They are showing up at every AD everywhere in the world. And i believe within the next two-three months and from then on, a waiting list wont be necessary again.(i hope)

Why not just get on Rolex's website to find the dealers in a certain radius from you and just call and ask them. Works every time.

Just check the for sale section. I'm sure one will pop up & you will save some cash buying from a trusted seller here on the forum.

Plus, you wont pay taxes and you'll get a discount. Then, you can walk proudly into Tourneau, and get plenty of gawks and compliments from the clerks working there. Shame on them.

Mr. OP, quick rundown on some PA/NJ ADs by my personal experience:
Morre Lyons in Clifton is not fancy, in fact so plain it belies Rolex AD status. That said, Ron was always great but he retired. Give them a try as 'customer first' is their credo. Sherman & Sons in Bridgewater NJ is fantastic. Smaller store but nice experience, very helpful. Ron and Maria are terrific. They will make you happy. Forget about the Flemington NJ AD - all fancy, that's it. Benari in Newtown Square PA (outside Philly) is great. Very helpful folks. Bernie Robbins in St Davids (Wayne) is terrific. Forget the Newtown (NOT Newtown Square!!!) store, too small, too little inventory. |

I have purchased several watches and jewelry for my wife at Martin Jewelers in Cranford, NJ, ask for Jeff. Knowledgeable, reasonable, friendly, fair.

Sorry to hear about your experience. Although I understand an AD allowing their long standing clients access to high demand models before new clients, it was unprofessional for them to mislead you into thinking you were first in line. And not returning your call is salt in the wound. I think we've all been in situations like this at some point in our lives. Boggles the mind as to why some sales people burn bridges instead of building relationships. Hope you find another AD in your area that is willing to respect you as a customer and potential repeat client.

I feel for the OP. I have taken some of my purchases elsewhere from AD that shows no respect. |

It's surprising because you expect this type of don't care attitude from a national chain, but this was at a family-owned AD. And thanks for the suggestions everyone! It feels good to get it off my chest too. |
