Rolex Waterproof ??

I know this is a dumb question but I am a new Rolex owner and need to ask it anyway. Can I wear my GMT BLNR in water, say the shower and the pool etc. ?

How about the ocean on my trips to Jamaica or Cancun etc. ? I really want the real world answer, so if your answer is not based on the fact that you do it, please don't comment. Is it safe to wear it in the above situations or not ??

You can wear your Rolex in the water (I personally do not wear it in shower, hot tub, sauna)......today watch mfrs. refer to the term "water resistant".......I have an Omega from the mid 1960's that says "waterproof" on the case-back....no more of that term thanks to Senor Litigation.

I have worn my sub in the ocean several times and in the pool many times. I do not wear it in the shower, sauna or hot tub either. Some have said they wear theirs in the shower with no problems. As long as your watch is new or has been serviced at the recommended intervals, it should be fine.

GMT is good to 100m. I'd assume you'll never be more than 3m towards that.

Next time you're in Cancun or Jamaica, go out to sea, tie your watch onto a long rope, say 100m long, lower it down into the water, then pull it up.Ill bet you dollars to doughnuts, that nothing will happen to it.Rolex doesn't make blanket ratings.

I have worn my Rolexes in the shower, in lakes, in pools, and have had no problems. You paid a lot of money for a performance watch and that's what you have. Rolexes are no posers.

i shower, bathe, swim, scuba (not really), snorkel and splash in my watch (HULK). there is no better watch to expose to water in some ways because of the Oyster case.

Oh, I would take it off if doing a sports activity in the ocean like tubing or jet skiing. Only because I would be concerned that the spring bar might pop off and thus the watch would drop to the bottom of the ocean!

I've never been swimming in Jamaica but I have worn mine in other oceans and numerous lakes. How will you keep it clean if you don't wear it in the shower?
Seriously, if your wrist will be ok your watch will be fine.

Well one of my Rolex watches have spent well over 600 hours underwater both salt and fresh is that waterproof enough for you.Although the GMT is only rated to 100m it will be fine for snorkeling,salt/fresh water, pool, and shower.When used in salt water just rinse in fresh water after, and if used regularly in water a annual pressure check is recommended.

RolexFolks I can't understand why there are people not wearing their Rolex in the shower ? Is it not good for the watch ? I wear mine when I have to give it a deep and healthy clean........
