Nice AD - Grand Cayman Island
Stopped at the AD on Grand Cayman last week on our cruise of the Western Caribbean. Very nice place and great selection. |

No Daytonas in sight. They had plenty of DateJust and DD's. Also, they had a few GMT 2 C's and they were trying to talk me into taking one off their hands. Prices were about the same as in States. They had just received a shipment from Rolex so most of the Sports models were still in the back (or so the salesman said).

I think that the MSRP for the GMT II C is 5950 right?

Somewhere around that price. I was offered it for a little less but figured I'd be able to get it cheaper in the states if I really wanted it. Funny thing is my wife was semi-OK with the price...

My main worry was I was wearing my Day Date. After hearing the Horror Stories about bringing in additional Rolexes into the USA. I was thinking I might have problem with customs. Then if it was ok I would be paying duty on it... They also said they wouldn't ship it.
Still, the gentleman I spoke to was very nice there. |

It's tough to find good deals in the Caribbean any more..
I think they know their tourist base is no longer only the US with prices they have to beat, but the European and Middle East travellers as well where prices can be much higher than the US.

I compared My YM TT MOP which i bought from an AD in Jersey with one in the Bahamas and to my surprise i would only have saved about 3 or 4 hundred. That is not a bargain to me when i compare the service that comes with buying from my AD .

Nice AD! In fact, the whole HOUSE that the AD has his store in looks very down to earth and summer house like!
