Visit with AD

Stopped by the AD this afternoon and had fun test driving a platinum Yachtmaster. I'm thinking that will definitely be my next watch. Subtle on first take but really spoke to me after I tried it on and looked at it. He also mentioned that the new SD will be 43mm and the Sub will have the ceramic bezel, and polished center links. Wasn't sure if the size would change. Don't know where this info is coming from but he is convinced it is correct. Anybody else heard this?

I also heard that a new SD and sub date is coming out but didn't heard anything about the size. If this is true the rolex is trying to follow the trend.

Time will tell, but I truly hope that what your AD said will not be true.

Does Rolex tell certain ADs things not other? The three various ADs I've visited and spoken with all have been consistent in saying that they never find out things in advance.

Wow. I just can't see Rolex putting polished center links on a diver like the Submariner. If they do that, I will be purchasing a previous gen model.

Heard the same thing last week as to new sizing of SD, as well as updating the Subs. Also new version of the DJ at 40 mm. Seems to still be rumors at this point, though.

Buz: I dig the SS/Plat YM as well.

As far as the Sub and SD, of course we won't know until Basel. If it is true, then I'll just buy my Exp-II (unchanged) and be done collecting Rolex watches.

Kevin,
I agree. After trying on a few of the larger watches that are out there I really hope that Rolex doesn't get caught up in what I think is a fad. Platinum Y/M, Explorer II w/white dial will be the only two watches that have any appeal for me. SS Daytona white dial maybe, but can't make myself pay over MSRP for anything.

I have EXP II and I`m big fan of PT YM.These are wery beautiful watches,Exp II is more tough than YM,which is slightly more ellegant.
You won`t regret if you buy any of them...

Yeah, no one but Rolex knows for sure. What Rolex models / updates are going to be introduced at the Basel Fair is top secret and I cannot see why some AD should know about it beforehand.

Concur.

We've also had someone weigh in here with "insider" info disputing claims of changes to the sub.
I will calmly wait and read about it AFTER the show.
