Hi All,

Just hoping to gather some ideas re dial color for above...

As far as I knew the two tone Daytona only came with white or steel colored dial, however, I've been informed by a Rolex distributor that there is now a black dial available as well...Has anyone seen one in the flesh?

Was hoping to get some responses about which color people have chosen and why? Better re-sale for a particular color?

These TTs take a big hit in value from new, as I have personally experienced. You will not recover your new dial price by adding it. That said, I think the MOP dial with arabic numbers is the nicest dial Rolex makes for this model.

The black dial has been available for a long time,if not since it came out, on the S&G 116523. Unfortunately it has 2 thin lined gold circles surrounding the sub dials at 3,6 and 9 and are hardly noticable. The Zenith movement 16523 had much thicker outers circling the sub dials and imo looked so much better. The slate dial looks good though. Can a 116523 be ordered new with one of the dials that are known by many as the Paul Newman dials which are an option on the all 18 carat 116528? Probably not.

I vote for the slate dial. Anyone who has one of these must have exceptionally good taste!

I'm afraid floridadogg is right about adding value, you'll never get your money back on resale

But hey, if your dead set on changing the dial, hang out at an AD an eye or try on daytona's with different dials. Nothing like comparing dials in the flesh

BTW after staring at daytona's at my AD. mY favourite dial is the all gold/champ color.

I have choosen the white on a SS, and champagne MOP on a TT. As for the TT, the champagne MOP is by far the best looking compliment with gold. I saw the black and white MOP, but went crazy over the champagne MOP. It's a lot nicer in real life, pictures don't justify the beauty of it. For some reason, you don't find champagne MOP dial at the AD too often
